First Aid Courses

Childcare Basic First Aid Course

The course includes:

- Scene Management
- Bleeding & wounds
- Shock including Anaphylactic Shock
- Fractures & Soft Tissue Injuries
- Unconsciousness
- Burns
- Poisons
- Electric Shocks
- Respirations - Choking
- Medical Emergencies
- Infant & Child CPR

Duration of course: 1½ days
Certification: 3 years. Certificate of competency following successful assessment.

Prerequisites: None.

Typical Audience: People working in the Childcare profession.


Emergency First Aid Course

The emergency First Aid course is designed to train personnel in basic first Aid skills. It is ideally suited to companies where employees have direct contact with the public such as restaurants, pubs, shops etc.
The course has an emphasis on dealing with emergency life threatening situations in the absence of an Occupational First Aid and keeping the casualty alive until professional help arrives.

On completion of the course all students receive an Emergency First Aid Certificate, which is valid for one year.

Duration of course: 1 day.
Certification: Certificate of attendance.

Prerequisites: None.

CPR for Family and friends (Adult)

This is video based training recognized by the American Heart Association / Irish Heart Foundation and includes the following:

- Recognition & Treatment of Adult Cardiac Emergencies & foreign body airway obstruction.

Duration of course: 2 hours

Certification: Information only, with booklet.

Typical Audience: Anybody interested in saving a life.

Occupational First Aid

This course educates employees in the proper response to any workplace emergency.
Occupational First Aid Courses are heavily focused on, trauma that would be likely
to occur at your workplace. It meets and exceeds current Health & Safety Standards and requirements for employee training. Students learn how to recognise medical
emergencies & casualty assessment.

The course includes:

- Scene management
- Bleeding & Wounds
- Shock - Fractures
- Soft tissue injuries
- Unconsciousness
- Burns
- Poisons
- Medical Emergencies
- Respiration
- Adult C.P.R.

Duration of course: 3 days is complulsory under H.S.A guidlines.

** Note the 2 day courses are not recognised by H.S.A **

Certification: 3 Year Certification of Competence, recognised by the Irish Health & Safety authority. Following an assessment by an independent examiner.

Prerequisites: None

Typical Audience: Potential Occupational First Aiders or people in any workplace willing to advance their skills.
